Social Conduct Policy
Get Snowballing Pty Ltd
Our Commitment
Get Snowballing Pty Ltd is committed to creating events where everyone feels safe, respected, and welcome. This Social Conduct Policy applies to all attendees at every Get Snowballing event and forms part of our Terms & Conditions, which you agreed to upon purchasing a ticket or attending an event.
By attending a Get Snowballing event, you confirm that you have read and agree to this Policy.
1. Treat Everyone with Respect
Treat all attendees, staff, and venue personnel with courtesy and kindness. Not every connection will be mutual, that is entirely normal and expected. A friendly, gracious response to disinterest is a reflection of good character.
Behaviour that is discriminatory, degrading, or offensive, whether based on sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, race, disability, or any other characteristic, is not acceptable and may constitute unlawful conduct under Australian law, including the Sex Discrimination Act 1984 (Cth).
2. Respect Personal Boundaries
If another attendee indicates, whether directly or indirectly, that they do not wish to continue a conversation or interaction, you must respect that decision immediately and without question. Persistent advances after a clear or implied decline are not acceptable and will be treated as a breach of this Policy.
3. No Unwanted Physical Contact
Physical contact with other attendees must only occur with their clear and willing consent. Unwanted touching, grabbing, or any form of physical intrusion is strictly prohibited and may constitute assault under Australian law. Conduct of this nature will result in immediate removal from the event without refund.
4. No Photography or Recording Without Consent
You must not photograph, film, or record other attendees without their prior and explicit consent. This applies to all devices, including mobile phones. Unauthorised recording is a serious breach of this Policy and the Terms & Conditions, and will result in immediate removal from the event. It may also constitute a breach of applicable privacy laws.
Get Snowballing may conduct photography or video recording at events for promotional purposes. If you do not wish to be photographed, please notify the event host before or at the commencement of the event.
5. Drink Responsibly
If alcohol is available at the venue, you must consume it responsibly and in compliance with venue licensing requirements. Attendees who appear to be excessively intoxicated may be refused further service and asked to leave the event. Intoxication is not an excuse for inappropriate behaviour.
6. No Solicitation
Get Snowballing events are for social connection. You must not use the event primarily to promote a business, recruit clients, or solicit services from other attendees. Repeat commercial solicitation will result in restrictions on future attendance.
7. Respectful Conduct After the Event
The expectations of this Policy extend beyond the event itself. If you obtain another person's contact details at a Get Snowballing event, that information must only be used respectfully and with their ongoing willing consent. Harassment, persistent unwanted contact, or any inappropriate conduct directed at another attendee after the event is a breach of this Policy and may result in being banned from future events.
8. Look Out for Each Other
If you observe behaviour that makes you or someone else uncomfortable, please speak with the Get Snowballing host immediately. You do not need to handle a difficult situation on your own. Contact the Get Snowballing host immediately. That is exactly what our hosts are there for.
9. Our Event Hosts
There will always be at least one Get Snowballing representative present at every event as the designated host. Our hosts are there to ensure the event is welcoming, enjoyable, and safe for everyone. They are empowered to make decisions regarding conduct and participation, and their decisions in that regard are final.
If you need to speak with the host at any point during the event, please approach them directly.
10. Reporting After the Event
If you experience or witness behaviour that concerns you after the event has concluded, including harassment, unwanted contact, or any conduct inconsistent with this Policy, you can contact us at any time by emailing privacy@getsnowballing.com.au. All reports will be handled respectfully and, where practicable, confidentially.
Get Snowballing Pty Ltd reserves the right to investigate reports and to restrict or permanently ban individuals from future events where their conduct is found to be inappropriate or inconsistent with the values of our community.
11. Consequences for Breaching This Policy
Anyone who does not comply with this Policy may be asked to leave the event immediately, without refund. Depending on the seriousness of the conduct, Get Snowballing Pty Ltd may also:
Restrict or permanently ban the individual from future events;
Report the conduct to the relevant authorities, including police or the Australian Human Rights Commission, where the conduct may constitute unlawful behaviour or poses a risk to the safety of others.
The event host's decision on removal is final during the event.
12. Questions
If you have any questions about this Policy before or after an event, please contact us at privacy@getsnowballing.com.au.
This Policy is to be read alongside our Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy. In the event of any inconsistency between these Policies and the Terms & Conditions, the Terms & Conditions prevail.
